Derailed, again...

Oh crap. I've gained.

Derailed is not even a good description. Crashed and burned covers it better - but luckily I don't have any of my own photos of something in flames!

I had been holding steady - not great, but considering everything going on, I didn't feel too bad about that. But, then - I went CRAZY! Not thinking at all about what I ate or how much I exercised. It's totally my fault and all within my control.

I am not doing this for anyone other than myself. And yet, I always feel guilty when I eat something I shouldn't. Then, I beat myself up over it. Why do I do this? I suspect I am not the only one that falls into this trap.

So, my back is better and time to start exercising again.
Time to remember calories count - no matter how 'healthy' they are.
Moderation and balance are key.

Not sure how I will make it through the holiday season - which starts now. I love to bake! You have probably guessed that by now. My goal is to lose 10 pounds between now and the end of the year. I best get at it!

  1. Found your page from Cozycakes Cottage. I am now following you.

I know that weight loss can be hard, I work at it every day. Some days are better than others. YOu will do it. You sound like a very positive person!

Love your hats by the way!

  2. Just returning the comment. I love your blog and I really love your hats. I may want to order one or two for when I make my big hike. It's okay if you get off track a little, at least you know enough to see it and get back on track. I follow the 10% rule, that is 10% of the time you get to indulge a little. This give you about 36 days a year to splurge, or about 3 days a month. It doesn't give you permissin to pig out, but it does allow you that piece of chocolate cake or apple pie once in a while. It's really helpful aroung the holidays, because it allows you a chance to enjoy some favorites treats withtout feeling guilty. But mostly it allows you the chance to curb those overwhelming desires to eat something wonderful, that you wouldn't get the chance to eat while you are trying to change your eating habits. I don't use the word diet....it sounds too hard. Lifestyle change sounds much simpler because it doesn't restrict what you eat, just how you eat. I added you to my blog reading list so I can keep up. I really enjoyed looking around. Thank you for sharing. The Real Happy Homemaker.

  3. So nice to have "met" another "loser" who understands what it means to derail and crash and burn and...ugh. But I do like your spirit and I will be following your journey :) You KNOW what it took to get you HERE. Now retrace the good steps and keep on keepin' on :) Cheers!

  4. I understand completely. I recently lost over 50 pounds and have been able to keep it off for a year now. You can do it! Don't let a few bad days ruin everything you've done so far. Thanks for finding me!

  5. Thanks for the encouragement ladies! If I haven't made it to your blogs yet - I will! It usually takes me a few days in the middle of the week due to work schedules, and well - LIFE! :)
